Capture
the day
Wedding Photography is something that I absolutely love to do. I’ve always felt its a real privilege to be chosen to photograph a wedding, and I strive to create beautiful images with a timeless feel. I’ve always had a good eye for composition, and a good understanding of how best to work with natural light. I like to keep things classically composed, with beautiful skin tones, whilst retaining the natural, documentary feel that comes from taking lots of candid shots of the couple, and all their guests. I capture the atmosphere and the fun as it unfolds naturally.
Great wedding photography is about telling a story, documenting all the memorable moments, as well as the family and the guests, and the emotions of the day. I take great care creating beautiful photos of all the details – the dress, the bouquet, the wedding cake, the table decor. My favourite shots to take are Bride & Groom portraits, because portrait photography is really where it all started for me.
I keep things very relaxed for couples, finding the most beautiful spots, with the best light, and I encourage couples to get close, and not to worry about fussy or staged poses. As long as you are relaxed and happy, I can always create really beautiful, timeless portraits.
Mostly though, I take lots of natural, candid shots, capturing the guests and everything that goes on, in a discreet, unobtrusive way, so that the images reflect the reality of the day, and the emotions captured are real. I often use long lenses, so I can get close up shots from a discreet distance.
I take at least 2000 photos, and from these select the very best images, giving the couple 500 – 600 high quality images.
Every photo is individually worked on, to make it look it’s very best – I make adjustments to brightness, contrast, overall colour, skin tone etc, and I put additional work into the Bride & Groom portraits. I’m also skilled with Photoshop and retouching, if required.
The images are delivered to you on a stylish Walnut USB memory stick, which comes in a matching Walnut presentation box, engraved with ‘Our Wedding’. Photos are delivered three to four weeks after the wedding.
If you like my work, and you’re interested in booking me as your Wedding Photographer, then I would love the opportunity to meet with you in person, so we can chat about your big day, your plans and ideas, so I can get a feel for what you like, and what you’re looking for. I can show you a PhotoBook from a wedding Ive shot recently, as its good to see photos from a full wedding, to get a better idea overall. I’ll offer my thoughts and advice regarding the timings etc, plus a few tips! After the meeting, I’ll put together a suggested schedule for the photography, to include everything that you want, which I’ll email to you.
I keep in touch throughout the planning process, and I like to meet up again around a month before the wedding, ideally at the venue, to go over the finalised schedule, and together we can view all the best areas at the venue for the Bride & Groom portraits, as well the Group portraits. This is a good time to go everything, and answer questions, as Bride’s-to-be often have quite a few questions!
I also design beautiful, high quality Wedding Photobooks. These cost £250 – £300 depending on the size of the book and the number of pages.
