Look Your
Very best

Since most people have an online presence these days, there are more and more people needing to show a picture of themselves, and in these instances, everyone wants to look their absolute best. Whether you’re a performer, or someone who needs a publicity or promotional photo, a couple or family just wanting a really great group portrait, or a business professional looking to sharpen up your online presence, a professional studio portrait shoot can be one of the most worthwhile things you can do for yourself.

I’m experienced with studio portrait lighting, and different lighting styles, such as flattering ‘beauty’ lighting, for anyone who wants to minimise the signs of ageing, or just have really beautiful, flattering lighting. With men, it can often work well to use a different slightly lighting style with a harder edge to it.

I have a range of backdrop colours you can choose from – Black, White, Dark Grey, Pale Grey and Dark Blue. If you look at the portraits section in my Portfolio, you can see the different backdrop colours, and how they look in the final images.

Some people prefer to have a portrait shoot in their own home (or garden, park, woodland etc) and Im happy to do that too, and for home shoots, my studio portrait flash units are portable, so you can still have the clean, flattering lighting of a studio shoot in the comfort of your home or workplace.

A shoot is up to one hour, and during that time a number of different shots can be taken. So for an individual, there is time to try two or three different looks, a change of outfit. Some people like to have a smart or formal look for work purposes, as well as a relaxed look for their personal use, or social media presence. Or for family groups, I can do a big family group portrait with everyone, and then some individual portraits, and smaller groups, like all the children, Grandparents and Grandchildren, Parents and Children, just the parents etc.

After the shoot, all the good shots are sent to you, (unedited, and these are yours to keep) and from these you can choose up to six images for me to work on, to make them look their best. I make adjustments to overall colour, skin tone, brightness and contrast, and I can also do things like smoothing the skin, subtle retouching of fine lines, whiten eyes and teeth, things like that. My retouching is very subtle, so the images dont look worked on, I just make people look their best. If you wanted me to work on more than six, then I charge £8 for each additional image.
